Power to the People…Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow
Who We Are
The Seattle branch of the Black Panther Party was the first chapter formed outside of the state of California
by a collection of Seattle activists including brothers Aaron and Elmer Dixon in 1968 to raise the level of struggle, resistance, and Black consciousness in the city. Since then, the Seattle Chapter Black Panther Party Legacy Committee has worked diligently to solidify the impact of this important part of our history.
